Teething can be a challenging time for both parents and babies. As I navigated this phase with Lala, I wanted to provide more than just relief for sore gums. I aimed to infuse a bit of joy and nutrition into the process, and thus, the idea of breast milk banana popsicles was born.

The Magic of Breast Milk and Bananas:

Breast milk, with its incredible blend of nutrients and antibodies, takes center stage in this recipe. Paired with the natural sweetness of bananas, these popsicles not only ease the discomfort but also deliver a wholesome dose of goodness. The simplicity of the ingredients reflects my belief in the power of natural, nourishing foods for our little ones.

Homemade Breast Milk Banana Popsicle Recipe:

Ingredients:

1 ripe banana

1/2 cup of expressed breast milk

1/4 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Banana:

Peel the ripe banana and mash it thoroughly in a bowl. Ensure there are no lumps for a smoother texture.

Combine Ingredients:

Add the expressed breast milk to the mashed banana. If you'd like, include a dash of pure vanilla extract for a hint of extra flavor. Mix the ingredients until well combined.

Fill Popsicle Molds:

Pour the banana and breast milk mixture into popsicle molds. You can find a variety of molds online or at your local baby store. Make sure not to overfill them, leaving a little space at the top for expansion during freezing.

Insert Sticks:

Place the popsicle sticks into the molds, ensuring they are centered. If your mold comes with a lid, secure it to keep the sticks in place.

Freeze:

Transfer the molds to the freezer and let them freeze for at least 4-6 hours or until solid.

Enjoy:

Once the popsicles are completely frozen, remove them from the molds, and let your little one enjoy this soothing and nutritious treat.

Tips:

If your baby is not yet eating solids, consult with your paediatrician before introducing any new foods, even in the form of popsicles.

Experiment with different fruit combinations or add a sprinkle of baby cereal for added texture.

Conclusion:

Homemade breast milk banana popsicles are a fantastic way to provide comfort and nutrition to your teething baby. By incorporating the goodness of breast milk and the natural sweetness of bananas, you're creating a treat that not only tastes delicious but also supports your baby's growth and development. Enjoy the smiles and giggles as your little one indulges in these nourishing popsicles!
